Deciding whether to buy a desktop computer or a laptop can be a difficult decision. Each one has its own advantages; it really depends on the person’s needs and wants. Think about what each of them can offer and the differences each of them have. Your decision should be based on your needs and your budget.
A person considering what type of computer to purchase should consider the advantages for each. A main advantage for a laptop is the portability. By having one, a person will always have their applications and documents available when needed. Someone can access the internet while on the run, using a wireless card. This provides someone to be able to do work, research, check emails and just be more constructive.
The weight of laptops is no more than ten pounds and this is because they are meant to be carried. People do not want to carry something weighting about twenty-five pounds, what the desktop weights that would be like carrying a toddler on your hip all day. Bags are made for laptops and they have shoulder a strap to carry easier, some bags even have wheels so you can pull it. This particularly benefits college students and business individuals who are constantly on the go. Many times these people ride a train and this could be an ideal time do catch up on any work.
Laptops are at risk for getting damaged since they are portable. So when carrying one a person needs to be extra careful. Let’s face it, people are always in a hurry so the chances it will bang the corner of a door is very likely. Most bags that store laptops will have cushion material inside with straps to hold it in place. They come in different sizes to suit your needs.
The chances are higher for someone to steal a laptop than a desktop. Not too many people will want to steal a desktop because they weight more and would be more difficult. To stay safe for those who have laptops, keep it locked where it needs a password to get in.
When it comes to price, desktops have the advantage. Altogether laptops have come down in price over the year, desktops are still less expensive. The performance of a desktop is better also. In addition for those who live in apartments, desktops take up more room. You will have to buy a desk if you decide on a desktop.
Each computer has its perks; overall it is up to that individual to know their needs and what they can afford. Do you need access to the internet, how much can you afford? People need to think about the pros and cons about each and make a decision.
